Never in my lifetime

Never in my lifetime, in this day & age, did I think I would actually see the end of a freeway. I mean, it just stops.

Your eyes do not deceive you…

I can’t exactly tell you why, but Tracy, George & I all found this to be rather amazing. The freeway doesn’t work it’s way from 4 lanes to 2 and continue on like any normal freeway would do. Or even change to streets with lights. It just ends. The confusion that happened when all of a sudden big orange cones & cement blockades were guiding us up onto an offramp to sidestreets was rather funny.

Anyways….thought I would share our once in a lifetime experience.

  1. So glad to see you back, and what fun to come home to all that yarn! I am jealous that you got to go camping in such big trees. One summer I am getting the kids to California and going to the redwoods. That is one of my favorite memories as a kid. Then I can take them to the ocean, because Ryan and Kyle have never seen it, and Evan and Alyx were really little last time they did. Yikes!

  2. I remember the first time I saw a freeway that didn’t go anywhere.. I was a kid and they had been building an overpass system near San Jos

  3. Won’t it be great in years to drive out there again & actually see it finished?? We just thought it was the strangest sight! So it’s nice to hear that someday it may be finished & make our drive out to the mountains much, much quicker!

  4. Hellloooo! You have a sister that lives 30 seconds from the beach & your kids have never seen the ocean??? Why don’t you come out here??

  5. Yeah, yeah, yeah…if i could ever get a job long enough to actually earn some vacation that gave me enough time to spend the three days it takes to get to your house… ;-). No, really, I think I am going to start making plans now to come out there next summer. Somehow we have to figure out how to pay for it though!
