Some fun stuff

I have been collecting vintage aprons for a few years now and decided it was time to actually do something with some of them. I have also been looking for some nifty curtains for the kitchen window that looks right at the front porch. This is what I came up with;

TOTAL CHANGE OF TOPIC!!!
I JUST TOOK SOME PICTURES MANUALLY LIKE I HAVE BEEN DOING SINCE MY CAMERA MALFUNCTIONED THE NIGHT I GOT IT, ACCIDENTALLY HIT A MENU BUTTON WITH MY NOSE AND THE MENU ACTUALLY POPPED UP.

MY CAMERA WORKS!!!!!!!

Okay, on to the aprons…

I like them, George likes them, the kids think it’s a little odd but they don’t get a say in it.
I wanted to use fabric aprons but couldn’t come up with a mix that was pleasing to me. The crochet aprons are just my style anyways. And, I have to show you my favorite feature in our kitchen;

My Dinner Choices sign. I love it. I grew up hearing it nightly, I say it nightly to my own kids. Tough love, baby!

I also wanted to show off my new mug from Anthropologie. I love it!

Other than that I have no new knitting to show. There hasn’t been much progress on anything. I had to lengthen Tyler’s sweater, again. That makes 3 times it’s been lengthened to fit him as he grows. He does love that sweater!

Koolhaas by Jared Flood from Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts

I used Malabrigo Worsted in Cactus Flower on size 6 Harmony Wood needles. I did 4 repeats of the chart for height but I think I should have done 5. After it’s done blocking it may be long enough. I have it stretched out pretty tightly on that styrofoam head drying.

I am actually enjoying myself!

All these hats are actually making me happy.

I thought for sure I would hate it after hat #3 but I don’t. I just keep going. I only have one more Slinky hat to make and then it’s on to the 11 or so crochet beanies that must be done.

The thing that keeps me interested is the color changing, choosing colors, color, color, color.

Pretty and interesting. I even like it when I am looking at a color sequence and questioning whether it works, then continuing on and having it turn out perfectly at the end!

Tracy has pawned her Woolease off on me (okay, some she hated the color, some she just didn’t want. A total of about 8 balls) to ‘help out’ with more colors ;o)

Let me show you my woolease bag.

I do love the stuff! The bag is all my stashed woolease plus a few of the balls from Tracy are in there.

As You Can See

As you can see by the 3 photos I just posted I am on a Christmas gift kick. I figure, if I can have all hats done by Nov. 1st I am way ahead of the game! That takes care of 4 families; 22 people.
Now, I did have a few hats (5) in my gift closet that have never found recipients that will work for this year. That helped a bit. Once I get the Noro Hats (I call them slinky hats cuz I am not using Noro yarn) then I will start on the boys crocheted beanies.
Those are so fast! If I focus I can get 2 done a day. But we know days don’t go perfectly so I am giving myself a hat a day requirement. Thus, I should be done by Nov. 1st.
Then I get to knit pretty things; sweaters, blankets, socks, gloves. mmmmmm….I can feel the dpn’s & sock yarn in my hands now…..
