12 Months of Colorwork Socks

Would you like to explore the different techniques of colorwork in socks in a guided workshop setting? This is the place for you!
On the first and fourth Wednesdays of the month from April 2024 to March 2025, except December 25th, we will work on a different pair of socks using various color-work techniques; mosaic, stranded aka fair isle, and intarsia.
This is a pretty big undertaking, no doubt about it. There are varying degrees of difficulty and almost all can be altered to be worked with less patterning to speed things up. December’s sock is a DK-weight sock with colorwork on the cuffs and toes.
The patterns are gathered from well-known designers and are available to purchase on Ravelry or through the designers’ websites.

Theme/holiday socks will be worked the month before the season/holiday so you can wear them for that season. (Smart, huh?)
All patterns will be test-knit by me before group knitting.

Video instructions for setting up patterns in Knit Companion will be included.

What you will learn in class & video recordings:
– chart reading for all techniques
– substitution of heel styles
– alternate cast-ons and bind-offs
– toe-up and top-down techniques

There will be exclusive videos for each sock, techniques used in heels & toes, alterations & substitutions.

Description

  • Classes are always conducted live and recorded with overhand and face-on camera views.
  • If you miss a class you will still receive the link to the recording and playlist available on YouTube with a direct link.
  • Tutorial videos will be filmed and added to the playlist, as well as all video links provided in the pattern
  • It is the student’s responsibility to finish homework between classes. I have done my best to space sessions with plenty of time in between.
  • You will receive an email the day before the first class with the link to all meetings and any pertinent information.
