Felicity & Beanie

Our local coffee shop that we hold our weekly knit night at has new summer hours. Unfortunately they were going to close at 7 on Wednesday nights & throw a huge wrench in our plans!
Luckily, the owner knows we have been meeting there for years & years and graciously provided us with 2 baristas to stay as late as we want.
I thought it would be nice to gift both baristas (who wear hats continuously, year round).
This hat, the Felicity, is for the wonderful girl barista.
I used Fiesta Boomerang yarn and the free Felicity hat pattern.
Size 7 & 8 needles got me gauge.
Here is the guy barista’s Single Crochet Beanie using Otono Cotton & an I hook.

This is my Aestlight shawl, all finished!
I used 2 balls of Handpaintedyarn.com Boutone wool. Named for all the fantastic little wormy/coiled sections in the yarn that act like little buttons popping out.
I love it, the texture & pattern are meant for eachother!
So glad that after 4+ years of having this yarn in my stash I got to use it all up on the perfect project!

She is an American Eskimo/ Terrier mix, 6 months old, freshly spayed, 16 lbs & still growing (just a little more).
George chose her, we adopted her from a working family with little kids that just didn’t have the extra energy to put in to a rambunctious puppy.
She is well behaved, pretty easily trained, and very, very easy tempered. She plays when it’s time to play, she stops when it’s time to stop.
She likes to nap on the couch with the kids. Loves to lay with her Daddy and be rubbed all over.
We were very blessed to find her now, just when our family needed a little pick-us-up (and a nearly free one at that)!

I haven’t knit socks on dpn’s in so long it’s actually fun to do!
The colors are Tyler’s favorites. I need to just finish them up so I can see them on him!
(as long as they are not worn with sandals it’ll be okay)

The Aestlight Shawl using Handpaintedyarn.com’s Boutone cotton yarn. It is a great texture and the colors are giving me exactly what I want.
Finally, a use for this yarn. It’s been in my stash for at least 4 years.
