Le Tour de Sock Registration~ Check!
I am doing it this year. 6 pair of socks, speed knitting, challenging patterns, hand-dyed yarns, count me in!!
Here are a few of the details:
Have fun and raise money for a worthy cause in this speed-knitting competition based on the famous bike race with a similar name! Competitors will race to finish a pair of socks in each of six stages earning points for finishing the fastest. Registration fees (less paypal and shipping expenses for prizes) will go to Doctors Without Borders to help continue their excellent work of providing medical care to those in need around the globe.
Total Donated to Date (over 2 years):
$4,069.62
I am also very excited about the sponsors; 3 of which I am giddy over!
Love of my life. These yarns are amazing. I am planning to use ASC yarns for all the socks in the race but we’ll see just how well that works out. Crossing my fingers!!
Funny enough, I just bought my first hank of Dragonfly Fibers Dragon Sock yarn. The colors are to die for and I can’t wait to knit with it. Chances are it’s going to be a shawl & not a pair of socks for TdS but I can get more if I need to!
For years I have loved Miss Babs yarns. Unfortunately I don’t have any in my stash at the moment, it was all lost in the storage unit. Usually I stock up at Stitches West but I haven’t made it in 2 years. Le sigh.
I haven’t been excited over a challenge like this in a long time. June 1st is going to take forever to get here! Not really, I know, time is flying by.
Comic Con Geurilla Yarn Bombing
I am starting squares soon!! I have a couple of projects already on a time deadline so it may be a week or two but I am so doing this. I think I will dedicate one skein of at least one color. How many squares do you think I can get out of a Super Saver Red Heart skein? We’ll see!!
YARNBOMB PROJECT: “RUBIX CUBE PARK”
I haven’t finished making up the advertisements to go with the Comic Con project, however the ball needs to get moving! I will need 2,700 squares and ANYONE/SKILL level can help. I need 450 squares in each of the colors listed below. I chose a specific brand and colors for this project to keep it all cohesive. Who doesn’t have a skein of Red Heart laying around, right?
