Monthly meetup

I so want to go tonight but since my husband has been going through an intense allergic reaction to shellfish I don’t feel like I can ask him for a second night out this week. Unfortunate! But I will see how he is when he gets home from work. I can’t imagine how miserable it must be to be covered shoulders to knees in one huge allergic hive….I am sorry honey! Oh, my skin itches just thinking about it!

On the knitting front, today I got all of the dusty merino balled up. How fun was that??? Other than my upper back killing me from helping unwind the yarn onto the ball winder, it was the highlight of my day.

I did work on my mom’s sweater a little. Not much though. I spent the morning working on & off on the capricornia boucle shawl & reading    I would like to finish that in the next day. Move on to  Trace. Tracy is working on that one right now so I will have to fill in my reading with something quick, like a knitting book. EZ is always an entertaining knit read.

So there you have my Wednesday! I hope you all enjoyed your ride with me today…watch your step on your way out….

Goodies in the mail today

Finally I got an order from handpaintedyarn within a normal delivery time frame & I am so happy!! The dusty pink sock merino is so soft! I can’t wait to ball it all up tomorrow. The roving is 100% merino & really soft also. The green lettuce color is a lot darker than on their website but I love it! All in all I am happy with my purchase!

On Saturday I received my blocking board & wire blockers. Very happy about that purchase! Can’t wait until I can move into this here office, but I will be all alone in here so I am not sure how much use it will get. I have a feeling that I will be at the business office with Tracy quite a few mornings. Then again, I don’t leave my house in the morning unless there is an emergency. We’ll see how that works out! ;o)

Okay, off to either spin some more of the silk/merino or knit the boucle triangle shawl. I want that done now so I think it will be the project of the week. Simple but have to keep track of increases so at least there is something interesting to pay attention to.

Tired, must knit myself to sleep…zzz…zzz…zzz…zzz…

Andersen’s Monday night

Fun was the key word for this evening!

Of course Andersen’s Bakery was great! Awesome chicken vegetable soup for dinner. So didn’t get a lot of knitting accomplished of course but I did get to see Laura, first time in 3 weeks!

I did get the sweater for Trevor finished today, I only have under the arms to seam up & then blocking. Tada! I will post pics as soon as I get batteries for mycamera. I have a son that snatches batteries like they are his life force or something.

After Andersen’s Tracy & Summers & I went to Borders on State St. just 2 blocks down and perused all of the knitting books. After chowing down on some scrumptious lemon bars of course! So Tracy & I went in on a new book, can’t remember the name, but it will be fun to check it out tomorrow.

Tonight I am working on a triangle shawl, very simple garter stitch out of handpaintedyarn.com’s:  Seller's item photo

Pretty huh? Yeah, Tracy hated it so I happily traded her for some yarn I had. I really need something that will cover me in my chair while my husband freezes me out with the fan blowing, so this is my solution! Also she was happy to oblige me in taking the silk off of my hands for the ruched blanket. I just have no desire to make the blanket. I want it but don’t want to make it. So she can have all that yarn & enjoy!!

I have to get the knitting group contact list emailed out tom0rrow so we can actually contact eachother when needed!

Tomorrow….

Oh & I found the greatest shirt, of course Blue Bee has it downtown for a million dollars (ok, slight exageration) but online it’s much more doable:

Tattoos without all the pain & rather inexpensive, comparably. Call me crazy I know! I think it would be great to have it on when I get to my parents house for Thanksgiving! My mom will freak out on me & then my husband will get in trouble for letting me do it. Then again, I take that back. George can do no wrong in my mother’s eyes…it’s all my bad influence on him   I am evil…I assure you….

Good night all!

Friday….interesting Friday….

Well today  something so scary happened to me & mine. My youngest son, Trevor, got lost at Leadbetter beach. I mean really, really lost!! I can’t actually tell the story right now without having serious heart problems, a little too fresh. Let’s just say that the Santa Barbar Harbor Patrol had him at the snack shack about 200 yards away from where we were set up. All I have to say is thank God that Tracy was with me & thank God that a lady jogger saw him crying & took him to the authorities!!! He was chasing seagulls off of the beach & he ran so fast & far that he ended up down the beach while we were dealing with seagulls eating all of the kids dinner off of the bbq. STUPID SEAGULLS!!If I wasn’t so refined I would be cussing up a storm at those f*##%$ing seagulls right now!! (I know, I don’t normally swear but wow…I have never been so scared in my life……pardon the language!)

So in a nutshell that is all & I don’t think I will be able to let him out of my sight for any length of time, no matter how many hot dogs are being stolen by damn birds!
