Yes, I am still here & knitting away!

Unfortunately my life is completely turned upside down right now. I won’t go into details lets just suffice it to say that I have a full plate & my stomach is heaving it is so full!

On lighter notes…knitting is flying off my needles!

In the last month I have finished quite a few projects. Sorry there is a lack of pictures, I am on Tracy’s laptop & I have all my pictures on the computer at the office.

I finished a noro cardigan, steeked & all just like Tracy’s but a different colorway. I also have completed 4 new felted bags, a couple of bucket hats, 3 pair of socks and a shrug out of merino bulky wool from Handpainted yarn.

The new bag is a very similar pattern to the Interweave Crochet pattern that uses colorwaves by lion brand. I used wool, changed gauge, felted it and used a magnetic purse closure with some fun bamboo wood round handles. I am rather pleased!

My parents were here for a visit 2 weeks ago & I  was able to get the Bob sweater fitted to my mom, a picture will come! I am really pleased that I was able to actually do the alterations to the neckline with her here…made it alot easier than mailing it back and forth.

I am on fast forward with Christmas presents, 6 months early is good for me! I have all of my sister’s family’s gifts just about finished, only one more scarf for my brother in law. We decided to do gifts for all of my husbands families this year so I am thinking beanies for boys, animals for babies, purses for women, socks for men, something fun for the girls maybe some fun purses.

Of course for my parents I am doing aran sweaters. I have my moms pattern all figured and started. I am going to do something fun like a guernsey for my dad out of a nice chocolate brown wool blend. The retired folks like machine washables!

Tracy & I were down in Ventura last night on a sucky errand & decided that we should have some fun and stop in at Anacapa Yarns. The store was nicely set up, lots of nice yarn and amazing amounts of what I like to call “scarf” yarn. Too many furry, fuzzy, wormy looking yarns for me! It was fun to see a new yarn shop  but I like to be able to buy in quantity online & get a discount! Cheap!!

For a while I won’t be going to knitting on Monday nights, life has happened & it will be a little while before it gets back together. So for anyone out there that I won’t see, Enjoy Mondays!!

Sorry bout the wait…

Okay so for the few people that are interested in my dwindling blog yes…I am still alive…yes I am still knitting…no I don’t have a computer at the house…still…

On the knitting front, last week was one of those weeks where I just continually cast on new projects. I mean not just a new sweater but 2 shrugs, a sweater, socks, pillows, bags, you name it I cast on for at least one. That & I was on a creative roll! Coming up with actual unique, creative ideas. Tracy & I were on a 3 hour Ross trip when my brain went crazy with ideas (imagine the 2 of us  trying dresses on over our clothes in the dress aisle and laughing so hard I almost peed my pants ;p) If you don’t know me or don’t know me well you might not know that not only do I not have a creative bone in my body I have to stoop to plagerism and stealing others magnificent ideas just to get something accomplished! So, for an original pattern, idea, twist is just rare!

I am so happy that pretty, girlie items are in style! Ribbons & bows & turquoise & pink & green & pretty make me a happy girl! Oh & the sun is actually out and hot! Yay!! That is until the June gloom rolls on in…let’s cross our fingers for sunshine yeah? Okay!

Fun Monday night knitting!

I have been casting on more projects than one person should be allowed to handle! I will do a list (who doesn’t love a list!) but first let’s talk about what has been accomplished!

I finished a yummy shrug out of handpaintedyarn in paris nights merino bulky wool. LOVE IT! Most useful piece of clothing for the springtime.

A pair of socks using self patterning sock yarn. Pretty pinks & reds, love them!

Random drop stitch scarves using scrap yarn from other projects.

Okay now for the list of needle whording projects:

*sweater from spring interweave knits

*Bella sweater from it’s a tape thing, Rowan using handpaintedyarn in bulky wool turquoise

*3 pair of socks

* woven stitch 400stitch scarf (from Knitty Gritty, don’t laugh!)

*aran sweater for my mom (starting Christmas early this year!)

*felted bag

*random hats, crochet & knit

*herringbone poncho

*and of course the never-gonna-be-done-dammit-I-have-no-desire-to-finish-it Absolutely Fabulous Throw

That is all off the top of my head at 10:30pm. And for not being at home that isn’t bad!

Good night!

Finally some eye candy for everyone!

Oh there is more to come I just didn’t have time to get it all downloaded. So I finished the aran sweater! Woohoo! I wore it to knitting on Monday night. Unfortunately I didn’t get there until 10 to 9 and only Summers and Jayme were there that late.

I am pleased with how it turned out and can’t wait to get a decent picture posted.

I started a sweater out of the new vogue knitting, the back is complete and I am working on the front/hood and the sleeves to keep myself interested. I am using some of my last hand painted yarn from Uruguay. Dusty colored merino 3-ply sock weight (it’s actually worsted weight but the co. calls it sock weight). Such a dream to knit with and I can’t wait to have the sweater to wear!

I finished a shrug/shoulder warmer out of Classic Elite Provence in a loden green with cables running laterally. I will post a picture this weekend sometime. I made my friend Tammy who lives in Santa Cruz a drop stitch scarf of a different style out of ecological wool in the coolest lime green color from Craft Essentials.

Needless to say there are more pictures to come!
