A simple, asymmetrical tee designed to accentuate the impact of gradient dyed yarns. This cap sleeved sweater has a hi-lo, straigh back and a-line, chevron pointed front. It is knit seamlessly from the top down, minimizing finishing work. Easy enough for an advanced beginner.

Homework to be done before class:

Gauge swatch finished, matching gauge as required per knitting directions below.
Remember to change needle size until you match gauge given on pattern.

Please bring all required materials, including a printed copy of the pattern.

Yarn weight

Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi) ?
Gauge

26 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches in blocked stockinette

Sizes available

This pattern is available for $6.00 USD on Ravelry or you can purchase through me and print from the digital copy that you will receive in your Ravelry library.

Sizing + Finished Measurements
Choose the size closest to your bust measurement.
Bust: 30 (32, 34, 36, 38)40, 42, 44, 46”
Armhole Depth: 6 (6½, 7, 7½, 8)8, 8½, 9, 9 ½”
Upper Arm Circumference: 10 (10½, 11, 11½, 12)12½, 13, 13½, 14”
Length at center-back: 19 (19½, 19½, 20, 20) 20, 20, 21, 21”

Materials
Yarn: You will need approximately 805 (890, 940, 1015, 1060)1110, 1170, 1285, 1330 yards of fingering weight yarn. Please note that if you intend to knit the length of the sweater longer than the specified measurements, or if your gauge is off you will need to order extra yarn. Hand dyed, gradient yarns are labor intensive to create and are therefore a little more costly. To save money on yarn, you might consider using just one gradient skein at the top of your sweater and a solid coordinate for the remainder. The sample pictured was knit using a double skein of Twisted Fiber Art’s Tasty (an 80/10/10 merino/cashmere/nylon blend) in the Maple Evolution colorway, and a solid green coordinate to make up the remaining length.
I am using Wollelfe’s gradient in the 1000m length. You can shop through their website or Etsy shop.

Needles: 16” and 30” circular needles for sizes up to 40” OR 16” and 40” circular needles for larger sizes in size US4 (3.5mm) or size required to obtain gauge. Optional needle one or two sizes larger than gauge for loose bind off.

Notions: 5 st markers, a darning needle for weaving in ends.

This skirt is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!

Believe it or not, it looks great on all body shapes. The single spun wool yarn is heavy enough to make a solid, comfortable skirt that’s going to retain its shape. Diagonal stripes add interest to the shape and being knit on the bias the skirt won’t curl at the edge. Though this version is unlined, it would be easy enough to add a lining if you so wished.

shown in size M, with 2 inches negative ease

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference: 26, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52 inches
Length: 18, 18.5, 19, 19.5, 20, 21, 22, 23 inches

Note: Choose size with circumference that is 0-6 inches less than hip measurement of wearer, depending on desired fit. Waistband is sized to fit, using elastic. Size of skirt can easily be adjusted; if you are increasing skirt circumference or length, purchase more yarn.

If you end up having only one ball left, work from the inside of the skein for A, and the outside of the skein for B; alternately, the last skein can be wound into two separate balls.
