Ant infestation behind my computer on Flickr – Photo Sharing!.
As I am sure most of you know, I hate ants. I hate ants more than I hate maggots & flies mostly because there are more of them when you have to deal with them.
Of course, it’s my birthday so they wanted to come & celebrate with me. Nice. Real nice.
That is a whole colony of ants & their stupid offspring. I killed all the queens, killed the whole p ile of ants and now have to clean them up. As you can see, I don’t get behind my computer very often to clean so there are pretzels and post-it notes and wrappers of various candies.
Why on my birthday? Why?
If I find maggots somewhere I might just leave my house and not come home. ;o)

It’s my birthday!!
George left early this morning but when I awoke there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a present waiting for me on my dresser! The necklace is from him, so gorgeous & it matches the top from my dear friend Debbie perfectly!
Debbie and I met for coffee this morning and she gave me this gorgeous Michael Stars top. I will be wearing it all day today on this, my birthday!!
Tonight I will for sure be going to knit group, no worries, I wouldn’t miss it for the world!
Happy Hanukkah Kyle!
This is Kyle. He’s our Coffeeman at Java Station where we meet each & every Wednesday for great knitting, coffee & tons of loudness. We thought he needed a gift for the holidays. And since he’s going out of town over Hanukkah tonight had to be the night!
The beanie is my Single Crochet Beanie pattern, you can find it on the Free Patterns page link on the left, using Patons SWS in Natural Natural, Natural Moss, Natural Snow & Natural Wood, from top to bottom. Size I hook, increased to 11sc between increases.

Mods: I chose to make the body a full 15″ from cast on edge to the point where you join the sleeves at the underarm. I am very glad I did!
I also lengthened the sleeves a lot; I made the 19.25″ and then joined them to the body.
Overall I am very, very pleased with this sweater!
I have worn it everyday since finishing it, does that say something??
My version
Well, here is my version of the west elm rug.
I am very pleased with how it turned out! I have a second one on the needles but I just don’t feel like armwrestling with the huge needles right now.
Details: Peaches & Creme Double Worsted weight cotton yarn in Olive.
Size 19 needles
Right off the bat I can’t tell you how many I cast on, I will have to go count ;o)
But I can tell you that I knit for 36″, folded it in half and sewed it shut. It’s thick and cushy to step out onto after a nice hot shower. And, surprisingly enough, it does not slip. I am planning to put nonslip rug stuff under there but so far there hasn’t been a need.
I chose to fold it in half so that it would be reversible.
I have also been making Christmas gifts; most of which are going to family members that don’t read here. So I think I can safely show them ;o)
Plus a few more items thrown in for good measure. I will put up details on each project after I complete them all.
I have been trying to keep things up to date on Ravelry, so if you feel lost without my posting (who wouldn’t, right?) please head on over & catch up with me there. I will do my best to get back to blogging regularly. Promise!

I think this is the cutest, simplest freakin’ bag I have seen in a long time! I think I may have to hit the fabric store soon for some really nice, heavier weight cotton to make myself one. Or two ;o)
If it goes quickly it would be a good idea for Christmas gifts as well.
Oh boy…my blog is boring
I know, I haven’t been posting much. I just don’t seem to care about the computer lately. I have barely been keeping up with my Ravelry stuff, using it only for reference.
School is going well. Work is not going so well. Everybody is so freaked out about the economy they are pinching pennies and keeping us out of work. Loosen up people! Then we could all help the economy out!
Once this election is over I have a feeling the fear and dread that has taken over will ease up a bit.
Knitting. Well knitting and crocheting have been coming along smoothly.
I have been working on a few fun things, taking a few days off of actual knitting to work on a couple fair isle sweater designs that I want to actually charge for. Maybe that will bring in a few dollars for some more yarn & books & fabric ;o)
Here is a smattering of what I have been working on.
