The new Knitty issue is up. It’s right up my knitting alley. Socks, small stuff, stuff that takes little to no brain power to make. Here are a few of my favorites, in order of appearance in the issue not in my desire to make them.
I like these gloves because here in the beautiful land of SoCal we rarely need real gloves. These would just take the chill away which is all we need on our cool, humid evenings.
Perdita, name is fun, it’s a bracelet, I think I’ll make it!
Reptilian lace, socks, lace, just my style.
Good lord does it get any better than this??? Lace, foofy skirt, Beaudelaire has it all!
Lickety Split, tabi socks are a favorite of mine. Cold feet run in my family so there is always someone that needs flip flop socks. I would do them solid or with a selfstriping yarn and leave the intarsia & different colored toes/heels off. Not that interested in bringing attention to the socks!
I do believe Swell is swell. Perfect for our beach boys here in SB.
Although I agree with legwarmers for our coastline mornings I don’t think the ‘winter’ theme of these is quite right for summer wearing. I think that wave pattern from swell along the bottom edge would work better. Then again, I will stick with what I have, thanks anyways.
I am leaving out the ugly, badly planned, simply unattractive items. You can go visit them on your own time, I won’t waste it here.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the preview & my 2cents!
