Half way through my second, count it, hallowig. “Blonde” this time for me mum. Oh so happy she will be!

Knitting group last night was fun but we learned that now Muddy Waters is closing at 6pm nightly also. So we have arranged with a great scandinavian restaurant in downtown SB to handle our group. We will have the whole upstairs to ourselves if we so wish. Not as comfortable as couches at Java Station but their pastries & coffee kick ass!! Plus there is actually enough light in there to see what you are knitting! Amazing, ingenius thought!

Then this morning Tracy & I had Suzanne  (who unfortunately had to leave for work & only got to hang out with Tracy for a mere 5 mintues)& Summers (who couldn’t make it at the arranged time due to parental frustrations but made it eventually & are we oh so glad she did ) over for coffee & a bit o’ knittin’. Fun to get to know some of the new crowd. Tracy went to coffee & knitting with them last Saturday but I could not make it. I had guests at my loverly home. Fun, fun, fun! Glad to meet more youngsters like myself.

I think the social side of my life is kind of picking up a bit. I am just waiting to make a trip to Ventura. I had promised Laura last week that we would try to make a trip down to Anacapa Yarns soon but timing is not working well for either of us. It will happen, I have faith!

I balled up my koolaid dyed fishermans’ wool today. I have decided to do a poncho for my daughter out of it. I think it will look dandy. The only problem is that now I have to get the gifts for my parents finished so that I can take them to Idaho in November. The koolaid yarn is sitting there on my ottoman just smiling & winking at me saying “Please knit me (with that Adam Sandler sweet retard smile) you know you want to…please…it will feel good…you know you want to touch my …..”

That is all the quotes you will get out of me.

What a relief to see that Thuy did actually get her super secret surprise package! Enjoy it, you really, really deserve it after the past month you have had!

I finished one hallowig last night. In turquoise & my mom is now requesting a “blonde” one. So I am thinking that the brightest yellow, flourescent yarn that I can find will work swimmingly! Overall a good weekend. It is Tyler’s bday today! I will post some pics later today or tomorrow. Unfortunately I have to go to the dentist tomorrow at 11. I already cancelled one appt & got dinged $50 for it. My laziness actually cost me $$$ this time! Then again, I had no sleep the night before & my kids were all over me so I was beyond tired! Justification of course!

I was informed last night that Java Station has new hours & they are closing at 5:30 everyday. So we are in the crappy position of finding somewhere else that is comfortable, centrally located & doesn’t mind large groups of crazy knitting women that stay til all hours of the night! I need to make some phone calls thisafternoon to see if we can’t find somewhere quick.

On the Holiday front: I just purchased tickets for the whole family to go to my parents in Idaho for Thanksgiving! Yay! No, I can’t even explain to you just how happy  that makes me! My parents rock!!!

to clean the house (already done with much jaw clenching & swearing under my breath), to hang out with the kids (Home on the Range is getting really old, really fast), to cook dinner (but I feel horrible for making my awesome hubby do it), to blog about much and last but not least, I am not in the mood to tackle some stupid project that I have started & never finished!

So there you have it, just an overall grumpy ogre attitude this evening. I want to do something fun but won’t force my husband to watch the kids for a 3rd night in the past week. THey are his kids too, you are right. But would I like to be abandoned at bedtime 3 nights out of the week so he could go have fun?? NO!! No, that would not make me happy at all

Therefore, I think I will go change into some comfortable clothes, turn on the boob-tube, pick one of my thousands of knitting projects & just go comatose on my chair. Sucks, but that is the way it goes sometimes!

I love getting mail! But my lame ass mail lady has a tendency to take her merry old time delivering! So I dont get my mail until after 5pm most days! When she has a sub I get it sooner…explain…my teeth are clenched now writing about her!

But I forgive her today because she actually brought me some fun goodies! Fiber for more spinning! Like I need to add anything else to my to-do list. So I will post some pics of the fibers after this post. I already spun up some of the merino/tussah silk blend & I am truly in love! I haven’t spun any of the darker fiber yet because I was having so much fun with the silk blend. I must go take a picture of the yarn on the spindle. I do plan to ply this yarn that is why it is so thin.

Anyhoo…our satellite receiver burned out so today I had one of the recordable dvr’s installed. woohoo! How perfect is that for bedtime with the kids. 3 minutes lost here…4 there…8…over there…ooohhp potty time… mommy says grrrr! But now I can still get mad, say grrr & not miss my shows. How perfectly selfish of me! Mother of the year, that’s me!

I was pretty proud of myself today for getting all those pics taken & posted. I do wish I could say I sat down & knit both sleeves for George’s sweater. Unfortunately I just spin myself more yarn for knitting that I don’t have time for. DOH!

Okay I have to go beddy-bye now. It’s late & my eyes are stinging so I suppose that means they want to sleep. Or I have crap in them. One or the other. Oh, coughing kid out of bed. Til tomorrow….
