Fixing Mistakes Workshop Just Added

Workshop date:

Saturday 3/28

3:30 – 6:30pm

Mistakes are a part of knitting, we may not like it but it’s how we learn. Guess what? You can learn how to fix them!

Discover what your stitches should look like so you can catch issues early. Learn to count rows and stitches, install lifelines, pick up stitches from rows below before ripping back.

Decipher your knitting to find your place after you’ve set your project down in a rush to let the dog out.

Fix mistakes in stockinette stitch, as well as textured stitches, including garter stitch. Rip out rows safely and securely when necessary and ensure that all of your stitches get back on the needles properly.
Take the fear out of mistakes, grow your confidence that you can fix it all by yourself!!

Sounds crazy? No! You can do it!

Note: This is ONE 3 hour session with one 15 minute break.

New Sweater Class at Twist!!

I am excited about teaching this class. There are so many great patterns in this book!

The Basic Seamed Sweater Class is designed to be a first sweater done in pieces. You’ll knit the front, back, and sleeves, then learn to seam them. This class is great for intermediate to advanced knitters who have yet to conquer the sweater. It’s also good for people who have done sweaters, but would like to polish up their finishing skills, or do something a little different. You’ll be choosing a sweater suitable for your skill level from the book, Norah Gaughan Volume 12, which contains several unique and lovely designs.

There will be a consultation session first, during which you will decide on your sweater pattern, size, and yarn. The class is $65, not including the book, which is $14.95, nor the sweater materials.

The consultation will be on Saturday, October 5th, from 12:30 – 1:30 PM.

Then the class will meet every other Saturday: 10/26, 11/02, 11/16, 11/30, and 12/14.

For more information, see the online registration page.

Introducing my Sicky Sweater

Sicky sweater now has separate body & sleeves.
I started this little lady a few days ago when the flu was at it’s worst.
It’s going to be a very modified version of the Mellow Sweater by Pickles. Heavier yarn, longer sleeves, I am adding a pouch kangaroo pocket. I want a comfy, loose sweater with a bit of fun styling to make it more than a lazy day around the house sweater.
More pictures to come as it progresses!

Twist Brioche Cowl

This is a design for a class I will be teaching next month at Twist Yarn Shop in Wichita.

2 color brioche cowl or infinity scarf using worsted weight yarn and size 10 needles. It’s a pretty fast knit & the brioche stitch makes it so warm & cushy it’s just yummy.
Once I get the pattern test knit I will be posting it for sale. I love this one!

Thanks to Shelly from Twist for the use of the photos 🙂
