Spring cleaning in Jan??

I suppose it is the break in the rain that has me feeling like cleaning out. I worked on our 2 hall closets, our bedroom closet & next I move on to the kids closets. I can brag that I am a fairly organized person so luckily it hasn’t been much of a challenge. It’s been nice to get rid of the things that we haven’t used in this house since we moved in about 2 years ago.

Knitting on the stripey sweater is moving right along. I finished the first arm, now I am over half done with the second arm. I took a poll at knitting group on Monday and it was decided that I can do the back in solid red (same as the arms) so that I don’t have to battle with doing the striped pattern again & have about a trillion ends to weave in. Carrying them up the side was a serious pain in the ass. Oh but wait…I just noticed out of the corner of my eye that I bought those large yarn bobbins! Oh, now I may have to rethink doing stripes. I can totally wind the yarn on the bobbins! Duh, that is what they were invented & sold to me for! Well damnit! Thanks for the input ladies but now I have gone back to the original stripes. Don’t you love how you get to see my thought process’ work?? It is amazing!

I also started a sweater for Sadie, she needs a new cute fitted sweater. So I am thinking I will just do a simple 2×2 rib edge then stockinette body with raglan shaping & crew neck. In the round of course! Then I may do some fun embroidery on it, flowers or some such thing. It will be pretty plain since it is solid light blue. I am done with over half of the body. I may start the sleeves today depending on how the closet cleaning goes.

So there you have my Wednesday plans! Hope y’all have a rockin’ hump day too!!

Accomplishments~ Oh so proud!

Woohoo!! Finished dad’s irish hiking scarf & one sleeve of Bob. My goal is to get as much done as I can on the other sleeve today. It’s an interesting pattern with the short sleeved raglan shaping. I like how with the 3×2 ribbing it is stretchy & forgiving. The scarf is in the wash as we speak. I used a 85%wool blend so that it is washable. He lived with horses so who knows if it will need washing often.

It is raining today and that makes me happy to just sit & knit. I found a cool little project holder that goes around my wrist today at BIGK. It is a small umbrella holder that is make of a tight mesh with a handle to go around your wrist. It holds my koigu kpppm drop stitch scarf perfectly. Anything sock size  would fit, but just one sock at a time. Not usually a k shopper but needed rabbit food &  such today and I am glad I went cuz now I have a handy knitting holder

I will post pics of the finished scarf tomorrow & maybe even a finished Bob too! Who knows, with the rain I could be very productive tonight!

Oh yeah & tomorrow is the charity blanket square drop off. I need to send out a reminder to the group tomorrow morning.

Have a great Sunday night!

Real quick

I am too tired & wiped out to say much today. We got home from the funeral last night around 9:30pm. By the way, TRACY YOU ROCK!!

I got a little bit of knitting done in the car. About 4 inches of a sweater, in the round, for a niece for Christmas. While I was gone Tracy had the pleasure of opening a package of yarn from handpaintedyarn. Very pretty pot surprise & super bulky merino. Now I have 4 of the wonderful super bulky merino. Have no clue what I will do with it but it’s so pretty!

Okay, I must go now, nothing else in my brain is working….obviously not grammar!

Andersen’s …Monday night…awesome

I don’t know about everyone else but I thought last night was a homerun…except for the little heat issue upstairs. Other than that it was comfortable, food & drink were awesome! Not that I got a lot done on my sweater, that was on purpose though. I try not to work on it as much as possible.

Summers & I went for a little stroll down to Borders last night because neither of us wanted to actually come home. Gonna have to go see Shaun of the Dead soon, that will be rockin’!

This morning was garbage & recycling so I rolled up my sleeves & got it all out on the street so my garbage man would actually take it this week. He tends to not follow their rules & get it from behind my gate even though they are supposed to. Lame!

TOday is going to be a beanie day. And I will continue on my moms sweater since I am only 2″ away from all of the fun detailing & shaping for sleeves & neckline.Yay!

I went through & did a little organizing on my stash next to my chair. It is mostly works in progress, millions of patterns and yarn that I continually use or fondle for projects coming up.  Oh & I found Tracy a couple more of the canvas cubes for storing WIP. She loves me

Oh, oh, oh!! Handpaintedyarn.com listed roving yesterday so I went ahead & ordered some for myself~oh how I cannot wait for that to come! I also got a few books       at Borders on my way home & my first Spin Off magazine came yesterday. I will post pics, of course I didn’t get any of the knitting group last night. I was happy to see my friend Marin come. She is going to learn how to knit so she can make a few bags as gifts for Christmas. We got her cast on last night & almost one whole row finished. After we wound 2 hanks of Cascade 220 for her to start with. We are meeting to work some more on it, she won’t have any trouble learning! So there you have it! I will try to get a couple pics of lovely things up soon!

So for todays post….

We are going to add onto my list of started, but not finished, projects…

Labrador sweater for little girl

Cotton bag for niece

New poncho for myself

Cotton crocheted bucket hat (similair to bottoms up hat but in crochet)

Great stuff huh??

I am just about to rip my hair out! I am going to finish something over the weekend, I do believe I will pick the pagoda hooded sweatshirt! If I can actually put in enough time on it. Weekends get hectic around here! We’ll just have to see!
