Knit away!

Okay so we are actually having a sunny weekend therefore I haven’t done much knitting this weekend. I am hoping to work on the aran sweater sleeves. I decided to knit both at once thinking maybe I will feel more motivated to get them completed, so far I have rather enjoyed the feeling that I am killing 2 birds with one stone.

I also started hoarding homespun yarn for a new blanket pattern that they had in the catalog this last time. Knitted Circle Throw (Image1)

I have managed to get all but 2 of the colors locally, now I only have to order the other 2 with Tracy online (she needs woolease for her blanket). As she mentionied in her blog post about the blanket  Image hosted by Photobucket.com that she is doing I will also be left with a ton of yarn. The idea of a second blanket with the opposite color scheme works well so if I don’t hate it with a passion when I am done with my blanket that is what I will do. I am excited to really get it done but of course the 2 colors I need are holding me up. That’s cool though!

Okay well I need to get home & crackin’ on some knittin’!

The Good Cup on the Mesa, be there or be square!

Hat frenzy

I have been on quite the hat frenzy the last couple of days. No knitting, just crocheting. That is alright for now although I still have Christmas looming ahead and I have promised all kinds of gifts to friends & family members. Lame of me, I know!

I think I may work on my mom’s sweater tonight just to get back into it. Then I really, really want to start another sweater but I think I can keep myself in check & at least wait until I have finished another project. Oh I should do another Works in Progress list, since I did just reorganize & all.

-George’s sweater…..1.5 sleeves left

-Mom’s sweater…..1/2 finished

-Silk ruched blanket…..2% finished (snort…what a joke!)

-Argyle sweater…..6 inches of back complete

-Ab Fab Colinette throw…..1/3 done

Not too bad! I have finished quite a few since my last list!

Now for the list of what I want to do:

~Labrador the Weekend Warrior sweater in Flame

~Merino Scarlet either A Craving to Knit cardigan or another cardigan if I see one that strikes my fancy

~Bulky Wool Chocolate shawl neck cardigan of some sort, no pattern as of yet

So many more right now that I cannot think straight! Also I have a daughter that is hanging off of me right now.

More later!

Current happenings

Blah day today but a lot has been happening on the knitting front! Went to the knitting group last night at Java Station. Met one new lady, Julie, very fun! Laura & Mary were there. So a very small group, but intimate & pretty darn entertaining!

I finished a couple of christmas gifts for my sisters family. All 5 girls are getting something hand made, that is my goal & I am sticking to it! I also love working on my pagoda hooded sweatshirt. So much that I am making one for my daughter out of some uruwool that I got a while back. Also I am have a very lofty goal for myself while I am on my trip to Idaho. I am planning on making my hubby (who cannot make it due to work) a sweater as a surprise gift! Yay! Hope that works out well, sometimes on a trip you find you never pick up the project you bring with you~ that is why I have a goal!

My youngest son is the only child without a handknit sweater. Don’t know why that is but it’s something else that must be remedied quickly! I am doing pretty good at not purchasing more yarn but I found a seller on ebay that is selling huge lots & they are kinda irresisteble.

Lame! oh well! Get while the getting is good I suppose! I just have to finish more projects…more…more…more!

Movin’ on up….

Yay for moving my best friend this weekend!! Tracy is finally giving up all her lame friends & coming to live by the coolest friend ever…ME!!  Unfortunately it means having to fly to her house, pack the truck & drive for 8 hours! But fortunately for me it’s Mother’s Day the day we drive back so my perfect husband has decided to give us a spa package at a resort in Pismo Beach on our way home. Hello!! Nice break from driving & moving! Really excited about all that!!

Now, on the knitting front, there has been a break in anything productive happening. I made a cape for the kids to use as superhero dress up. Just a boring rectangle in St st then sewed to make the head hole. Nothing spectacular. Didn’t finish my other 2 tops for myself because the kids were demanding something fun for them to play with. Okay so they weren’t demanding it but it popped in my head & was really fun. SO I want to make a fun lacy poncho for myself before I leave on my trip but I am not sure that it’s possible in a day & a half with a ton of errands to run. I will start & take it with me to work on on the plane & such.

So that is that & I will post to let everyone know how awesome Mother’s Day was!
