My 34th Birthday!!

Dec 17 2008 020 on Flickr – Photo Sharing.
It’s my birthday!!
George left early this morning but when I awoke there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a present waiting for me on my dresser! The necklace is from him, so gorgeous & it matches the top from my dear friend Debbie perfectly!
Debbie and I met for coffee this morning and she gave me this gorgeous Michael Stars top. I will be wearing it all day today on this, my birthday!!
Tonight I will for sure be going to knit group, no worries, I wouldn’t miss it for the world!

Gap Fire Thanks

If you would like to send a thank you note to the responders of the Gap Fire you can go to the Thank First Responders website.

The notes and any photos will be printed out and sent to each team that responded. I defenitely took the time to send my thanks. I can’t believe with how close the fires came no houses were lost. It’s not over yet, we are not totally out of the woods but I can sigh a huge sigh of relief that we made it this far!

Here are a few photos of the fire

I have many more in the camera still.

With the marine layer we have been pretty clear of smoke and ash for the past 2 days. Hopefully, it will stay that way and we can soon return to a normal outdoor summer.

I DID IT
I DID IT
I DID IT

Finally the Picnic Blanket is finished!!!

You can see all the details on my project page on Ravelry.

It will sit all 6 of us for eating but if we want to spread out it’s not quite big enough.

Finished size: 62″x 68″

Yarn: 100% cotton worsted weight, various brands, 27 colors

Hook size: G

Method of joining: single crocheted together

Finished weight: 10 pounds (give or take)

I freakin’ love it!

I am in the process of sewing a carry bag for it. Soon, it will be complete!

It will make it’s world debut on WWKIPDay at East Beach!

(Another) New Camera ;o)

If you haven’t noticed, I have a ‘thing’ with cameras. I save up, buy one & it (it’s usually my fault by no fault of my own, really) breaks down in some way.

Here’s the newest addition to the collection

Newest digital camera~ front

Newest digital camera~ back

HP Photosmart R847 8MP

Those photos were taken with my oldest digital camera, pictured below
Photos taken by my newest lovely, pictured above

Isn’t it so sad that my old camera gets all the good pictures taken of it?

Needless to say, I am very pleased! Even better, it only cost me $100!!
And, QVC had it on 3 easy-payments.

Woohoo!!!

Now I have something to take decent photos with until I get the dslr fixed.

(Yes, I know I could have used that $100 towards getting the minolta fixed but darnit, I wanted this cute li’l guy!)

Ellwood Monarch Preserve 1/12/07

I went on a fieldtrip with Tylers second grade class this morning. I had Tracy’s magical new Olympus camera with me. Yeah, she loves me, she let me borrow it. So I put the telephoto lens on & got myself some pictures of the clumping winter monarchs. They arrive in October and leave in early spring.
