Heart Leaf on Flickr – Photo Sharing!

Anniversary Photo~ Heart Leaf

Heart Leaf on Flickr – Photo Sharing!.
I took this photo of leaves on a hike through the SB Botanical Gardens and decided it was perfect to frame for George for our 13th anniversary this last week.
We find heart shaped things and give them to each other, always have & always will. I have rocks, pebbles, stucco drops & now we have a leaf photo.
I loved walking along the trail & literally happening upon this one. Of course, I couldn’t take my time with it, the kids were pulling me along & didn’t get why it was so neat ;o)

Ingenue

Ingenue from Cutstom Knits on Flickr – Photo Sharing!.
Not my favorite knit I have finished lately.
It came out way too roomy, I had planned on shrinking it up to fit once I finished since I knew the gauge was off due to my choice in yarn.
Yarn used: Mirella (discontinued years ago) by Adrienne Vittadini
Needles: 11
Size: XS
It may be washed for shrinkage but Tracy says it’s cute the way it is. We’ll see how I like wearing it. It may be too “Flashdance” 80’s for me ;o)

Tempest Sweater

Tempest Sweater on Flickr – Photo Sharing.
I finished my Tempest sweater from Knitty this last week & thought I would share ;o)
I love how the Fleece Artist Sock merino worked up. I used Nova Scotia as my MC and Ebony as the CC. 1 ball of each color + a smidge of a second MC (maybe 5 yards for the buttonband and neck).
Needle size 7~ my gauge was a little more loose than the pattern called for so I would have even more drape & negative ease.
I love how it turned out!
I do plan on making a second. It’s light and perfect for our weather here.

Crochet flowers of all sizes for Isabelle on Flickr – Photo Sharing!

Flowers for Christi

Crochet flowers of all sizes for Isabelle on Flickr – Photo Sharing!.
My sister Christi requested flowers for her daughters headbands, t-shirts, etc.
So I sat myself down with a handful of her favorite colored yarns and crocheted away! They were fast & fun to make.
I realized a few days before that I still had not sent out the package of hand made items that I made for my niece months & months ago. So I packaged these cuties up and sent out the box!

flowers in box

There are the flowers in one of the boxes I sent out.

Those are all the matching boxes. The one with the flowers in it is the smallest, down in the bottom left hand corner of the box.
In the other boxes there are bibs, a blanket, a sweater, a hat.  She loved them all! Good thing I sent it too because Isabelle is almost too big for a couple things!!

Birthday Quilt from Mom on Flickr – Photo Sharing!

Detailed quilting

Birthday Quilt from Mom on Flickr – Photo Sharing!.
I wanted a good picture of the detailed quilt work Mom did on the inner panel. She used a cream thread for the center panel and multi-colored thread for the side panels and borders. Beautiful free motion (I think she said something about floating stitch, I really have no clue what you call all the quilting stitches) quilting. She does not use templates, it’s just her natural talent to quilt evenly and artistically.
