Stacy's slip stitch socks

Isn’t it interesting, the coloring between the 2 socks is so very different! The sock on the right is half the hank of Spunky Eclectic sock yarn and the sock on the left is the other half!
That is the biggest variance in coloring I have ever experienced in one ball of yarn.

The yarn is smooth and wonderful to knit with so I didn’t let the coloring issues get to me. I am sure Stacy won’t mind at all.

So that is what I do!

My own pattern; toe up, 2 at once, magic loop, short row heels.

Eco-friendly reusable bags, plus facts & news on plastic bag issue

Eco-friendly reusable bags, plus facts & news on plastic bag issue.
Okay, here’s the deal.
Honestly, I am not one that is all environmentally friendly and concerned about being “green” in the environmental sense.
What I am concerned about is being “green” in the fiscal sense.
I do not see any need to pay more at the grocery store so they can supply plastic bags. I take my own bags. Envirosax are my favorite, they roll up so small I can take 5 in my purse for my entire cart of groceries.
I am looking to now replace the produce bags that are at the store with some I can make or buy relatively cheap. Cotton or mesh bags have been proven to keep your veggies & fruit fresh longer so I save money there too.
I found this site & not only does it have great re-usable items such as grocery bags & water bottles but it has fun things too.
Usable & fun.
2 of my favorite things.
I had to share.

Knitting…ah, I remember

I remember years ago when I posted every day. Most days multiple times.
Now I am lucky if it is monthly. And, I haven’t been taking pictures of projects either. Accept my sincere apologies for that, please!
I now vow to post at least once a week. I will get myself back in to the rhythm of writing and updating.
For now just be happy to know that over on www.Ravelry.com you can see all my projects & stash ;o)
Just sign up, if you aren’t already, and friend me, Firebrunette.

Long avoided

I have avoided posting for a while.
No reason really, just laziness & not a whole lot to say.
Life is “normal”. Kids are “normal”. I am anything but normal ;o)
Knitting is going well, classes are stacking up nicely. I am busier than I thought I could be teaching. That is a good thing!
Yesterday I finished the Whisper cardigan from Interweave Spring ’09 out of some beautiful EcoButterfly Cotton, lace weight in Cinnamon. I have yet to take pictures so you’ll just have to be patient. A big photo post will come soon. I have finished so many things in the last couple months & posted nothing about them.
So for now, read my words & be patient.

So, I went to the Magnolia Thrift store today just to see what they had that I needed. Those shoes I needed!
$4.94
They look like they have never been worn. That makes me ridiculously happy.
Unfortunately there was not any amazing yarn or needles to go along with the shoes. That was a bummer.
