Knitting Daily Lace Scarf Class

It is a really fun, fast knit & crochet.
The center is knit in Rowan’s Kidsilk Haze, only 27 stitches so it goes quickly, and then you crochet the edge in Blue Sky Alpaca Silk. Beautiful and so fun to make!
This is a great last minute (8-12 hours depending on your skill level) gift too.

Tracy's Nutkin socks

This is the Rare Gems Socks That Rock Lightweight yarn that was purchased at Stitches West this last winter by me & promptly sold to Tracy.
In payment for some clothes she purchased for Sadie I am knitting it in to beautiful Nutkin socks.
These socks are flying off the needles! I am using size 2.5 needles magic loop instead of dpn’s like the pattern calls for.
After a couple nights knitting I am already past the heels and on to the foot!
I will be casting on my own pair out of STR, different colorway unfortunately, asap.

Now that that is over…

Now that Father’s Day, my Mom’s Birthday, a late Mother’s Day & a late Dad’s Birthday are all over I can show you what I did for them.
These are Dad’s socks, my own improvised pattern. Toe up, magic loop on size 2.5 32″ circ needles, 2 at once, 72 sts with a 6 st broken rib repeat, short row heels.
The yarn is from a wonderful dyer on Ebay, Over the Rainbow Yarns. She no longer sells the superwash sock yarns, I have been hanging on to this one for a long time waiting for the perfect use & this was it!

This is Mom’s Forest Canopy Shawl. More of a shawlette size, resting over the shoulders to keep the chill off.
I also made Mom a pair of socks using Tofutsies, size 2.5 32″ circ needles, magic loop, 2 at once, toe up. My usual method ;o)

reese dixon: Paper Mache Party Lights

reese dixon: Paper Mache Party Lights.
How freaking cute are those?? Make it yourself, super cheap party lights!! Who doesn’t have dozens of strands of Christmas lights just waiting for a good use?? I know I do!
George & I used to make hundreds of plaster eggs (in just about the same way with the balloon in the center, dip it in watery plaster of paris & hang to dry) for Fiesta each year before we had kids. We sold them for 2/$1, extra large eggs were $1 a piece. Filled with confetti. Too fun.
I think this may need to be a project for the kids to do!

Unfortunately I am going to have to make them. Whether that is sewing them (out of the fabric I have had draped across the rod for months now) or crocheting some lacey ones, I have not decided yet.
This is a pattern out of an old crochet book I have. I like it a lot but man, that is a lot of crochet!

Cotton crochet thread, size 20, 4000 yards at least is what I will need.
I am thinking just good ole white. Typical but so easy to take care of.
