Awesome time!
We are here in Santa Clara at our lovely hotel, most of us set up in our rooms, ready for the convention tomorrow.
It will be awesome, getting there before 10am for tickets and a full day of Market shopping.

Knitting Olympics 2010

Tonights Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics kicks off 2 weeks of knitting olympics. The goal is to start a project, push yourself & finish your project by the Closing Ceremonies on the 28th.
I am going to be doing 2 shawls. One as a gift, one for myself.
The techniques won’t be pushing me but the amount of knitting involved will. Especially since I have been working on the same hat for over a week ;o) I just can’t seem to sit & knit lately. I will have to if I want to reach my goal in the next 2 weeks!
Plus, at the tail end of those 2 weeks is our annual trip to the Stitches West Convention in Santa Clara.
My sister Cori, coribug on ravelry, is coming out like she did last year so we’ll have a ton of fun. She arrives on Tuesday the 23rd & flies home on the following Tuesday.
Pics will be up as I go along. I am actually hoping to finish the first shawl, Andrea’s Shawl by Kirsten Kapur in 4 days. We’ll see if I can accomplish that & then have plenty of time for the second shawl,

Finally Knitting Again!!

I have been meaning to start knitting again after the move, really I have. I just haven’t been comfortable in this house yet.  So with a little designing  I started a hat. Start small, right? Right. Worked for me!

This is a double knit hat using Knitpicks Palette yarn in 2 shades of gray on size 4 needles. Lots of stitches, cast on of 160 for an adult size (and I am crossing my fingers it will fit).
I will have the chart & pattern available as soon as I get a second one knit to work out the kinks. Next one I am thinking could be done using semi solid, hand painted sock yarns. Hmmm…gotta ponder that one.
