CHRISTMAS CHARITY

This year I am going to spend 2 weeks at my parents house with the family over Christmas break. My sister that lives in the same area in Idaho just started working in the NICU (neo-natal intesive care unit, for the little tiny babes) at the local hospital. I was thinking that it would be fun to have some hats/blankies for the unit to give the babes. They live in Idaho where it’s freezing most of the year & could always use donated cute items for the little guys/girls that have quite long stays in their little isolets.

If anyone is interested in donating knit/crochet hats or blankies please bring them to knitting on Thursdays or let me know & I will come & pick them up. Below are some links to great, simple patterns used for donation items.

Thanks!!!

Those links should be enough to get you started!

Remeber these babes are tiny! Their heads can be as small as 10 inches around so the projects are super fast & take scrap yarn! Please take the time this year to do something cute & fun to cheer up a family that’s having a difficult time!

finally

I finally took some pictures of the very few things I have finished in the last few weeks. It’s frustrating having so many gift projects going that nothing is getting finished so I have decided to prioritize & finish them one by one instead of skip around constantly. Part of my plan is to take all projects but the one I am working on at the time out to the office with the rest of my knitting/yarn and leave it there until it’s time to pick up & finish another project. So without any further ado, pictures of some finished stuff!

First, maryjane slippers made using cascade 220 quattro in green.

Second, the cutest tiniest red maryjanes for a baby (haven’t decided which one yet). They are only 3 inches long, I forgot to put something next to them for comparison.

Third, feather & fan shawl. I used some handpainted merino wool that is heaven soft.

Fourth, an Irish Hiking Scarf for my brother in law. It is also made using Cascade 220 in quattro. I don’t recall the color name but it is black & olive plied.

Now for some gorgeous sunset pictures taken by my lovely SadieJane!

oooooooh, sp strikes

It arrived all sneakishly on my doorstep today, a great package from my secret pal!

Once opened I found a slew of my favorite things (pipe in sound of music song) Of course you have been keeping up me, haven’t you Frog?!? The latest 311 album (can always use 311), some breathe delight body vitamin lotion that is in my favorite citrus scent, tons of candy (yay), beautiful cotton chenille yarn (that will become a cabled clutch), 2 of the softest most gorgeous balls of dive teseo variagated italian yarn and last but not least who doesn’t need more bras??? Yarn bras, that is! I love them, they hold my balls together.

Is there any real way to say thank you better than to brag to the whole world that My Secret Pal ROCKS!!! thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou
