Dear Anonymous commenter,
My mother taught me that if you don’t have anything productive to say then don’t say it. I feel what follows is productive!
If you don’t like the photographic effect of my personal apad photos, don’t look at them. And if you have a problem with my camera settings, too bad! I don’t care if you don’t like the size of the pictures, it’s my blog & if I want them that large then I will post them that large. Why should I go through all that work of knitting sweaters with intricate details and then post tiny photos where you can’t see those details?
Don’t bitch to me about having to use your scroll arrow. That sure took a lot of effort on your part to be snotty. Thanks for getting my attention, you must need it!

Finally some finished objects pictures!
First we have my mom’s christmas gift. It’s an aran sweater made in the round using the EZ calcs with woolease doubled on size 10 needles.
Second is my carrot Debbie Bliss Fair Isle yoke pullover. I used knitpicks Wool of the Andes & let me just tell you that I love this yarn!
Thirdly is the black cardigan that I made using bits & pieces from the 1000 sweaters book and Simply Soft yarn from Caron. This is the most inexpensive sweater I have made this year, it cost a whopping $9! It’s an every day sweater that is perfect with jeans or skirts. I did a 2 stitch twist cable ribbing on the cuffs and up one side. I thought that a fun puffy sleeve with high cuffs could make it more flirty ![]()
Fourth is the drop stitch cardigan out of the fall 2005 IK.
See?? I have been a busy girl! Now for the scary photo, my chair surrounded by piles & piles of hats & beanies for my millions of nieces & nephews!
My husband is so patient with my yarn piles everywhere because I am so patient with his canvas’ and paint everywhere as you can see in the bottom left corner & top right corner of the picture. It will be nice to have all christmas projects completed so we can have our living room back!

Exactly 8 minutes
I have that long until I have to leave to go get the kids from school. And since today is a rainy day there will be a line of roughly a million cars waiting in the rain. I wish I lived closer to just walk & not waste the gas or the time in line.
Last nights Stitch N Bitch was great fun! I am glad that we are back at the Java Station. We can be as loud & obnoxious as we want. As you can see from Melissa’s post about conversations last night. I got over half of a hat done for one of my nieces. Not bad for being in a group of really chatty women.
Today the rain has hindered my knitting instead of the usual opposite effect it has. I was downtown today doing some things and of course it took much longer than it needed to because nobody in southern california knows how to drive/function in the anything but 70degree weather. Now, I can say that because I grew up in a part of california where rain & snow are a common occurence. So much so that I have driven 4WD vehicles the majority of my driving lifetime, 14yrs 11months 350days and roughly 19 hours. I didn’t include daylight savings or leap years so forgive me please!
Tonight is the Parade of Lights in downtown SB and I am quite looking forward to it. 2 years ago we had the great priviledge of sitting directly across from one of the radio announcers broadcast booths. My son Tyler, who is autistic for those of you that don’t know, was quite a bit more behind for his age back then. His speech wasn’t very clear and defenitly not put together in any way that people other than George & I could understand. So when the announcers had a break in the parade line and decided it would be cute to have little kids come out & sing their favorite christmas tune on the radio live, Tyler bolted out there before we had a chance to snag him back. Noone to this day knows what he ‘sang’ but the announcer wasn’t very pleased with his lack of annunciation capabilities & didn’t even let him finish. I do think he was trying to sing jingle bells but his mouth was all over the microphone and it was really garbled with pretty much no tune. It all happened so fast (and we were quite in shock) we didn’t have time to get pictures or video. That one would have won us the million$$ on AFHV’s for sure! I did feel bad for the announcer when Tyler proudly, but a little embarrased, came back over to sit on the curb with us and we were all so pleased, clapping & whoopin’ it up! The announcer really didn’t know what else to say so he mumbled something & the female announcer with him took over the live feed.
Just thought I would share a very poignant story for the day! Enjoy & Merry Christmas!

good knittin’
This holiday weekend was quite the knitting weekend in my house. Luckily noone cared that I just sat in my chair & knit constantly not willing to stop even to get myself a cup of coffee or do anything for anyone else. Of course there was the brief 3 1/2 hour break I took on Saturday to go see HP Goblet of Fire with Tracy, Kalah & SadieJane. The.best.movie.ever.hands.down.thumbs.up!!!
My self imposed deadline for Christmas gifts and sweaters for myself for our trip to Idaho for the holidays is slowly creeping up on me and this weekend was meant to smash my list all to bits! This is my list of completed projects in the past week.
*Black cardigan~ made from 1000 sweaters book using simply soft by Caron
*Gryffindor hat & scarf set
*Debbie Bliss Fair Isle yoke sweater~ okay, I admit it, I have not blocked this yet, or sewn the last few seams together but that will happen today I swear!
I have the hook & eyes all on the black cardigan so it is officially finished!
Now it is just time to get the few remaining Christmas gifts finished. George’s sweater being the big one. I am doing the cycling aran from hello yarn. It’s a fun, simple pattern that I think will get a lot of use this winter. Seeing as how we don’t have too much of a winter here, wool cardigans will suffice as a jacket. One of the fronts is finished, the second front is over half done and the back is about 3″ long. It’s a fast sweater in the yarn I am using, that is why it’s not done. See, I am a procrastinator. I tend to put the easy things aside assuming (I know, it makes an ass-out of u-and-me) that I will have plenty of time at the last minute to finish them up. Well even though I have almost a month to finish it I am feeling a bit cramped for time. That is a good thing. It means instead of starting a new project, which is what I wanted to do on Saturday night, I will finish the cycling aran first. I would love to have sweaters done for the 3 kids too but that just isn’t going to happen so I need to mentally take them off the list of projects to be completed by Christmas.
I missed not having the knitting group last week, I am looking forward to it this week, I am hoping everyone will bring finished projects to show off. I may just send out an email to the snb group for a show off week this Thursday.
Sounds fun!
There are so many finished projects that I haven’t posted pictures of I may just have to break down, take a shower, set up the camera & get them posted! That might have to take a backseat for today due to the above mentioned fact that I did nothing but knit all weekend, I have to get control over the out of control house of mine. Cleaning is #1 today! I will try my hardest to get pictures up tomorrow, patience grasshopper!
