Officially done for Christmas

I am done with all Christmas gifts! Yes! Now it’s on to the stuff I have been jonesin’ to start & finish! I am making myself a sparkly top to wear to our big Sedgwick family Christmas party. I have never been to this huge shindig before. It’s my extended family on my dads side. We were the only family that moved away from Utah to California in the 70’s. Both sides of my parents families all stayed. So I have well over 20 cousins plus all of their spouses and kids that will be in attendance at this here party. It will be fun to see cousins that I haven’t seen since my grandma’s funeral a few years back. It will be a blast!

I would like to finish the leafy pullover from Loop d Loop before leaving for the trip but I just don’t see that happening! Too much going on prior to departure on the 18th. Speaking of which, I shouldn’t be out here wasting time on a post, I should be inside getting something accomplished. I still have to mail all the wonderful finished Christmas items! That means that tags must be applied, items wrapped, then packaged and finally mailed off. So here I go! Have a great Saturday everyone!

I love it!

I love fair isle & I just hit the jackpot with hat & headband kits! I was just at Hello Yarns & found this lovely gem of a website, Bea Ellis Knitwear! As well as this site that has so many free motifs and patterns it blows the mind!I also found the most radical, bad to the bone, pirate hat pattern for my kids! I love hello yarns! They make me so happy it is ridiculous!

I also finished a pair of socks last night for Tyler’s full time aide, Tammy, whom we love immensely!

You can see them here together at the Halloween parade this past October.

George made the red guitar for him out of plywood and then spraypainted it, added the black nylon strap and some guitar strings. It’s so cool! I love having a creative man that can actually creat what he designs!

I was just looking through some free sock pattern sites & found this gem of a sock pattern generator. You put in the gauge of your yarn, the circ of the sock wearers ankle & it pumps out a very basic pattern. Nice & simple! I know I will use it for gift socks when I can’t try it on the gift receiver.

I HAD to do it!

Okay, I finally broke down & started a better, easier family blog. I have had so many things I wanted to post about but didn’t think this here knitting blog was the right place for them all. So the link on the right that says ‘Andreasen Family’ is my new family blog where there will be plenty of pictures and stories of events in our family that have nothing to do with knitting or fibre of any kind. Enjoy!

2 hour Panta

I had no idea that the Panta headband would be such a fast knit! I cast on yesterday afternoon and thought I would do a couple sections & then have to put it down to move on with my day. After watching my 1 guilty pleasure a day and the most disturbing hour of tv I think I have ever seen, I was finished! It is a rather pleasing pattern to knit also. Nice & simple. I wore it from the minute I finished it until right before bed. It was actually cold here last night, the low was 30F. That is frickin’ cold for our little beach town!
