project a day #2 done! last night around 10pm

Okay so Tyler’s second sock was started & finished yesterday. Second project down!

Now, last night after I finished the sock I had a debate with myself. Do I pick up a sweater that is already going, or do I start another little project? Well, I am a bit tired of the small items that are not that challenging. So I grabbed the Angelica sweater & started working on it again. Granted, I had only cast on & got about 6 inches done on the top raglan but at least it was started & there waiting for me.Don’t you love that about your knitting, it patiently waits for you, no phone calls, no ridiculous emails “where the hell are you man? why haven’t you called!”

This morning I will work on this through the arm & body separation then I am moving on to something else. I am going to do a dainty cuff bracelet using some fun crochet thread. Not sure which stitch pattern I will use but I have ideas! I will post pics of that project a day when it’s finished!

Go Team USA!!

project a day #1 done!!

I just finished a runner for Sadie’s bookshelf using multi-stripes of pink mohair. So fun!! I will show a full picture once her room is done but for now here is a close up of the pattern.

Next will be to finish the second of Tyler’s socks. Then the plan is to felt a couple of knit postcards. I have way too many things on my list of small projects! We’ll see how long I can stick with the small projects, I am already wishing I could finish a sweater in a day. I am tempted to cast on for a vest using a really chunky yarn tomorrow. We’ll see!!

Whew! Big sigh of relief!

I sent my secret pal a package 15 days ago & she just received it today! Hello?? I know we went postal out here in Goleta but come on! So, she loved it and now I have her second package ready to go! This one will be sent out UPS. I decided not to do pics, descriptions or links this round of secret pal because I am afraid I will get found by her! So once I reveal myself I will let you all know the extent of her spoiling!

I have exactly 12 minutes until the Olympics start so I thought I would post for the dozenth time today! Okay, not really a dozen but it’s a good round number so I thought I would use it.

I pulled out some pink mohair that Summers dyed eons ago & gave to me, to make a fun runner to go along the top of Sadie’s bookshelf. She has a handmade Danish runner now that is a family heirloom but it is yellow and doesn’t exactly go with the whole pink/black/white/fuschia theme. So once the new one is finished, walls are repainted and shelves, decorations put up then I will post some pictures of the complete transformation! Yippee for transformation!

Now for some good coffee, good knitting and GO TEAM USA (and Denmark)!!

Thanks SP!!

Yesterday I received a box from my SP!

And inside…

There are 7 balls of yarn in a silk blend boucle in a pretty pink! It’s actually enough to make something out of it! Of course my brain went straight to shawls. I don’t know why I always think of shawls with textured yarns. Huh, interesting. Anyways, I can’t wait to play with it, swatch it & then decide what would be the best project for it.

There was also a funny button filled snowman that will come in very handy! We like buttons around here! And last but not least, some happy valentine’s chocolate. They were all eaten after getting home from knitting last night. Don’t panic, there were 6 chocolates inside so I didn’t totally gorge myself.

I added a few pictures from last nights Java Station knit group. They can be found on the Yahoo group santabarbaraknitters photo page. Join the group if you haven’t already! If any of you are doing the knit olympics feel free to post your progress through the group so we can all see how you are doing!

I finished one of the legwarmers I am making and here you can see me wearing it with the cheapest shoes I have ever purchased $.49 (you read that right, I said “49 CENTS”!!!!!) at Ross of course!

Now this is how you will normally see it on me, under my jeans. I have a tendency to have freezing cold extremities year round, so these will be much used!

They make me happy & they make me happy!

cd cleanout

We have had our cd collection on a shelf in the hall closet since we moved into this house 3 years ago. A lot of cd’s are older than our 10 year marriage and haven’t seen the light of day in that long. So I thought it’s dumb to have all that money invested in the art of music if it is staying hidden where I don’t ever listen to it.

I decided that Ross was calling my name Sunday afternoon. Lo and Behold I found a black leather 244 cd case. Below is a picture of the pile of empty cd cases transformed into one happy cd case/binder.

Believe it or not it does actually zip closed with no trouble! I am so happy to have this done, now maybe I will listen to some tunes!

Now what to do with all the vhs videos that are taking up the rest of the hall closet, hmmm….
