Cruisin’ my peeps blogs
I am so happy to see that we all do actually still read eachothers blogs!
I just had to post about my cruisin’ blogs. I ran across Erin’s sampler afghan pictures & they need to be shared. I have to say that Barbara Walker’s patterns are fantabulous!
I am thinking of doing a very funky fair aisle sweater. I love the detail on the sleeves and the neckline with this sweater! There is a debbie bliss pattern
that I am IN LOVE with but I have some really crazy colors that I might just change the pattern to. So instead of lovely light blues & typical fair isle colors I am thinking I will do the body in a carrot orange
with some fun spruce
,
& chestnut
fair isle. These are all from knitpicks collection, wool of the andes. Little scary but we’ll just have to see how scary, good or bad scary.
Okay it’s dinner time!
Ciao!
What a downer!
Here is what I think…we are all too lazy, or too busy, or we just don’t care enough, to comment on eachothers blogs.
I hereby notify everyone that I will be commenting much more frequently so that we can all be encouraged we aren’t all alone out here in knit-blog world!
Whadya say my peeps??
Don’t comments make everyone feel good, worthwhile and just plain giddy?? I think so! So as my mother always taught me, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Here’s to comments!! Woohoo!
Who loves Art from Scrap?? I do, I do!!!
I don’t know how many of you Santa Barbara locals know about Art from Scrap but you should all go there! So much fun stuff!! Random things to make your imagination go wild!! Tracy & I took a little field trip there today on our lunch date to find some creative things. Who can say a 4lb cone of 100% silk yarn for $4!! That is right chickies…only 4 bucks!! So happy, oh so happy! And we got some fun other artsy, creative things that will remain a secret until we actually make them into art. Then you will see the magnificence!
More finished projects
So here is an update on finished & started projects:
I finished the blue cabled shrug from interweave knits. I love it!! It is a piece that will get a lot of use here by the ocean! Of course I couldn’t leave the pattern the way it was written, I decided to make ties instead of having the front cross over & pin shut. I like the ties better than having to mess with pins or broaches.
I started a fun hooded vest out of handpaintedyarn superbulky merino wool in pagoda that I got in trade from Tracy. In the round with deep 2×2 ribbing on the bottom and the hood is 2×2 rib also. Now I just have to sew a zipper in, no problem! Knit on size 11’s this went really fast & is a very functional piece of clothing!
Someday I will have a whole section of free patterns but as of now I just don’t have the attention span to work on it.
I have cast on a blanket for my daughter. Using some really soft cotton boucle yarns in red, pink, purple, blue and green. I am planning a simple striped pattern that will end up twin size for her bed. Rose our beautiful pain in the ass lop bunny has chewed up her afghan I made her as a toddler into quite a few pieces. At first i thought it might be salvageable but looking at it yesterday I decided it’s not. Shame too, it was gigantic! I will have to take a couple of pictures to demonstrate the destructiveness of bunnies on yarn items!
I will go cross some items off my list of projects now!
Ciao!
