Lace curtain idea for bathroom

Lace curtain idea for bathroom

Unfortunately I am going to have to make them. Whether that is sewing them (out of the fabric I have had draped across the rod for months now) or crocheting some lacey ones, I have not decided yet.
This is a pattern out of an old crochet book I have. I like it a lot but man, that is a lot of crochet!

Cotton crochet thread, size 20, 4000 yards at least is what I will need.
I am thinking just good ole white. Typical but so easy to take care of.

The textured stitch in the shawl pattern (recipe as the designer likes to call it) is so simple yet so striking!
The Farmhouse Silk Blend yarn has beautiful flecks of orange, pink, brown and even a little bit of blue thrown in.
I am so pleased!

I have put off making the Textured Shawl Recipe (you can only find it on Ravelry) until I decided on the perfect yarn match.
Well, I found it!
Farmhouse Yarns Silk Blend in Natural
4 oz, 350 yards
More than enough to make a decent sized shawl for summer time.
Heaven knows it won’t ever be too hot, we haven’t seen real sunshine in weeks!
I want to whip this baby out! I need a good, quick, well-accomplished project right now.

Habu Silk Laminaria Shawlette

At first I did not like it at all. The yarn is 100% silk and stiff to knit with.
Once it was done, washed & laid flat to dry I was disappointed that it hadn’t softened up at all.
So, I threw it in the dryer with some permanent press items & voila!
It worked, softened up nicely.
I would never call this soft, but it is light weight, nice next to the skin and balls up to next to nothing!

Habu 100% silk yarn, 3/4 of the cone

Size 6 needles, shawlette size of the Laminaria available at www.knitty.com

Love it.

I started to make a market bag using this cotton & of course, didn’t read the directions correctly so the bottom turned out way too frilly and not flat.

Perfect mistake to make! It is now the perfect handle protector so I don’t burn my hand when pouring my coffee!!

I have stopped drinking drip coffee at home completely now. Perc is all for me!
