Presents galore

I am in a serious present knitting mode at the moment. Right now I am working on a cardigan sweater I designed for my sister. I am using a rib & cable pattern, knitting the buttons in place while knitting the sweater, in the round, EZ style bottom up. I am almost at the armpit and will knit both sleeves magic loop at the same time. Gotta love the Knitpicks options needles with 42″ cables. Long enough to hold whatever I need.

The first picture is the true color of the yarn.

Next up will be felted ballerina slippers for the twins in grass green & royal blue. Those will be quick. Then to finish dad’s socks and mail off the package. I am hoping that I can get them all done in the next 2 weeks.

The green Otono yarn is for Stacy’s sweater, the red is for myself. Not sure what yet.

George is going on a golf weekend with his best friend & cousin in a couple of weeks so I thought I would make him some simple golf socks using the Tofutsies I bought. I finished 2/3 of one on my trip to Idaho. I am shocked at how fast it knits up. 80sts on size 1 Addi lace needles. Which I love, they really hit the mark with the Addi lace needles. Nice sharp tips, great graduated joins from the cord to the tip and they are pretty, that helps.

Those are my knitting plans. I have been hording quilting books and as soon as I get some sort of plan formulated I will do a post on only that. And introduce you to my mom’s new quilting machine. She has made 14 quilts since getting it 3 months ago. Hello!?! 14 quilts & not one for me, whatev…

and just for the heck of it, prepare to be flashed with my sock yarn stash ( I had to remove all non-sock yarn from the drawer finally)

the drawer measures 36″ x 36″ x 12″
