Photo updates

Below are some pictures of the projects that are currently eating away all my time.

Kyoto there isn’t much left to do, about an inch on the body then pick up sts for the neckline. Easy enough!

i want it that way sweater, the body is ready to join with the sleeves once they are done.

that was my nickname growing up, that’s right, Pea-brain, nice isn’t it?

And then there is the clapotis that Tracy and I traded, she got the neopolitan clapotis and I got this one, love it!

How about another finished felted bag?? This one is for my moms dear friend as a gift.

And that is just about it for project pictures. As soon as I am done with the unfinished projects above I will post some pics. Sweet!!

I forgot…

I was going to expand on my mention of a trip to Disneyland and then I completely forgot to in my last post! It, obviously, was aptly named ‘Duh’!

It is George and my 10th Anniversary this month, on the 20th to be exact. We were wed in Montecito at a friend’s estate and then honeymooned for 5 days in Big Bear in a cabin, then off to Disneyland for 3 days. The perfect honeymoon! We got snowed in in Big Bear so that made for quite the romantic honeymoon, winkwinknudgenudge.

So we are leaving our most wonderful children for 3 days, 2 nights to have a getaway at our favorite place on earth! Alas, I will be MIA Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will try my damndest to get some pics of us to post. We have a horrible habit of not taking one single photo of ourselves on our trips. We have had our anniversary at Dland 4 times plus the honeymoon and I think that I have maybe a dozen pictures to show for it.

By the way I hate that I have to have my font this big but if I go one size smaller it hurts my eyes to read it. Does that mean I am getting old? Who knows!

DUH!

I am quite the retard sometimes!

I found the Rebecca 29 on my bookshelf & realized that I hadn’t even looked through it since I bought it. If only I had realized that when I was on the prowl for that perfect pattern to start & give me inspiration! Now that I have seriously stocked up on Sierra yarn that went on clearance and it matches gauge perfectly with the majority of patterns in this mag. Sweet! Now I have way more projects that I need and could possibly get through in a realistic time frame. So I decided to go ahead & finish the kyoto I have on needles, the sweater that Thuy and I are making (as well as some other peeps I suppose)and then I thought ‘huh, i bet i could try to get something done before we leave for Disneyland on friday’. So this is what I am going to work on this week (as well as finishing the kyoto to have on the trip, keep reading for changes that I made to the pattern for an easier knit).

The skirt #12 in ggh safari. I don’t have enough of one color to make the whole skirt but I do have enough if I use a multi colored green & brown for the lace bottom with the solid chocolate brown body of the skirt. I cast on the 420 sts last night (gasp) and got through the first 7 rows to start the lace work. That is where decreases are worked down to 300 sts for the body & then slowly you decrease up to the hips. The yarn is linen & polyamide and it’s interesting to work with. Soft and thin. I have no idea how fast it will go but I will do what I can before leaving.

On the Kyoto I decided that I didn’t want to have to knit & sew all pieces separately. There are the 2 front pieces, 1 back piece, 2 sleeves, the bottom sash and the neck. No thank you! I couldn’t get around the back, fronts & sleeves being separate but I sure as hell can try to do something about the other 2. So last night I got the pieces of the body sewn together & instead of doing the sash separate then sewing it on I just picked up stitches around the bottom of the body & started goin’!! So simple, duh! I will do the same for the neck but I will have to fiddle with it a bit to get it to be perfect. MOre on that once it is done.

Today is MLK day so we are going to just hang out before the kids have to go back to school tomorrow. home=knitting big time!

APAD #112 My sister Stacy (on the right) and I on Christmas

This is a cheater also but I have so many pics from my trip that I am getting back that I have to share them & what better place to do it than on my apad.

I especially miss Stacy right now because she had back surgery 4 days before Christmas and was in terrible pain the entire time we were visiting. I wish I were with her today & every day to help her recover….I just love her!

I am totally selfish

This post is one of the hardest posts I have done in a long time.

SIGH
OKay here goes!

craftessentialsisclearingouttheiryarnmakingroomformore. sothereisalotofgoodstufffor$2and$3aballthatnormallywouldbeover$10aball.

Whew, that was hard to get out. I am totally selfish & want it all for myself but I was there this morning & spent more than I should have. Just so you all know. I bought all the cascade 220 that was on clearance. Unless they mark down more today you are out of luck!!   Yes, I am evil!! There wasn’t a ton of the greatest yarn but what is on clearance is super cheap! Especially for them, not just marked down $.49 or $1 like usual. It’s actually on clearance! SO there you have it, I confessed & now you all can go binge on yarn like I did this morning!
