I am moving right along! Yippee! Now that the 2 panic gift sweaters are done with plenty of time before Christmas I can get a few things done for myself! They kids teachers are not getting jack this year! Well maybe Sadie’s teacher, she is a GREAT teacher. Tyler will be moved into a new class by the time Christmas is here so I won’t do gifts for them. Them being the key word because the brilliance of the school is amazing! They put him in a 2 teacher, split grade classroom. Hello?!?! He’s autistic, the big problem there is that he has no tolerance for constant change. He needs stable, solid, balanced! I have had enough so he is being moved, now!

Sadie’s teacher is tall, dark, italian (still has an accent) and would look wonderful in a shawl of some kind. She is a smart woman let me tell you! We had Sadie’s parent teacher conference yesterday and it went very well. Sadie is a leader, born strong and intelligent. She has a tendency to really push boundaries and test other women. That has been an issue since before she started school but now that she is getting older it manifests itself in the first quarter of the school year. She is that child that is 8 but acts, thinks and reacts as if she is 25. Way too mature for her age, that partially comes from being the oldest child and partially comes from me being the same way. I know everything, didn’t you know?   In Sadie’s mind she has to make sure that the woman leading her in her learning experience really is smarter & stronger than she is or they don’t earn her respect and attention. Not the best way to be but it’s her way and it’s the way of a young leader. This last 2 weeks we finally saw the change happen. It clicked that her teacher could lead and teach her. All of a sudden Sadie had her place in the classroom, a leader among the students and a student to the teacher. Instead of trying to be a peer with the teacher and push the limits constantly. I don’t brag very often about my kids but let me just say that Sadie is a fantastic girl! She is smart, smart, smart! As a matter of fact she can read an average of 133 words per minute out loud with no mistakes. None! For those of you without kids in the 3rd grade that is a phenominal accomplishment. I should test myself to see how fast I read out loud & count my mistakes.

Thanks for listening (reading along) to my little bit of gloating over my amazing daughter! She is dying to come to knitting but she’s just not old enough yet. She would have her crocheting with her & she would be a kick in the pants to have there but I don’t know how the rest of you guys in the group would feel about having her there. Let me know if you would think it’s okay for just one week. I know we have a no kid policy so I thought it would be polite to bring it up before just showing up with her. I will bring it up tomorrow night at JS.

Sweet! Feelin’ good, real good! I hope you all have a fantastic day! Rock on!
