Mariella is the ideal summer sweater, with its slightly

and shawl collar. Mariella is worked in an open, drape-y
gauge that makes it a quick knit. It’s a versatile cover-up for
summer months. Wear it over a faded t-shirt and a pair of
cut-offs, or with a crisp linen sundress—it’ll add the perfect
amount of coziness and style to any outfit.

Linientreu Shawl
Saturdays 8/20, 8/27, 9/10, 9/17, 10am – 12pm
$50‘Linientreu’ was designed with the intention to find an alternative way to use yarns with short gradients (I can never resist to buy those!) without getting too many horizontal stripes.

‘Linientreu’ (‘In Line’) is a semicircular shawl, alternating equilateral triangles and simple garter stitch rows. The triangle modules are joined by knitting (no sewing necessary!) The right triangles at the border edge result from short rows.

You can use any yarn with short gradients.

Loving Lace

Google Image Result for http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j_fYCjeXEfw/T4tYVdwrCvI/AAAAAAAAFsI/hvzt4ELaAPs/s640/via%2Bnight%2Btattoo38.jpg

I am really loving the texture of lace lately. Tattoos, clothes, household items. Not just knit or crochet, although this apron in the picture is one that is crocheted & wouldn’t be difficult to mimic with half of a doily chart.

I am thinking it may be time to save a few pennies & hit thrift stores & garage sales for some good lace to play with. Tablecloths, doilies, curtains (so much yardage in curtains to play with!)

Just a thought ;o)

Knitting Olympics ~ Ravelympics Runup

It’s an Olympics summer! That means a few things but mostly it means that there is a Ravelympics going on and I am on Team Temptress!
For those of you that live under a rock, the knitting Olympics start at the Opening Ceremonies and your project/projects must be finished by the end of the Closing Ceremonies.
I have participated since 2008 and it’s really fun to push myself  with a project that should be impossible to get done in that time frame.  Not sure what I will do this time around, I have a couple of months to decide and gather the yarn.  It may be a new design or an intricate pattern or multiple projects. Never know!

Instantaneous Beating Around The Bush

I have found that in our modern world of handheld instant gratification there is an obvious lack of direct and honest communication. Everything is subject to interpretation in text messages, emails, chatting, etc.
Why the fuck can’t we pick up our damn phones, yes believe it or not they are actually cellular phones people, and call to have meaningful conversations?
I am just as guilty of this as those around me but come on, when I have important things to say I call. I don’t text randomly and hope the recipient can figure out if that lol is truly laughing or my dry, sarcastic sense of humor. And smileys are no better. A wink, a smile, a halo, it’s all the same and I am guessing half of the time whether or not to take what was just said seriously or smile and shrug it off.
It’s just driving me fucking crazy right now.
Back to knitting.
