you have mail

I finished the postcards & one is going out to my secret pal today!

First a picture of the ‘hi’ postcard. I cast on 42 stitches with some random mohair on size 3 needles. Knit stockinette for an inch then started the ‘hi’ in purl stitches. Simple enough! I steam blocked it with the iron first then smashed it between a stack of books for an hour or so before gluing the cardstock on the back.

Here it is in the mailbox ready to go out. I am hoping that it will have no trouble going first class mail. My mail lady is the most anal postal worker I have ever met & I have a very distinct feeling that she will leave it in my box with a yellow card saying what rule I broke so that she couldn’t take it!

it’s smaller and more blurry in the hopes that my sp won’t come across it & find me out. I may just take it down tomorrow!

As I went out to put it in the mailbox I found this awaiting me!

Twinkletoes Sock yarn in Blue Goose colorway from Over the Rainbow Yarns on Ebay. Gorgeous yarn! 550 yards for $13 total! Sweet deal! I have never used this yarn before but I have been wanting to try it for literally years since I first heard about it on someone else’s blog. Very excited to ball it up & swatch it.

Who knows, you may just see a quick project made out of it in the next day or two! There is more than enough yardage for socks and a small, fun something!
